NOTICE FROM NORFOLK COUNTY COUNCIL:

Road closure for drainage improvements on Bilney Lane and The Street, Felthorpe

Drainage improvement work will begin on Monday 15 October 2018 on the C245 The Street and U57169 Bilney Lane, Felthorpe. The work will take five weeks to complete subject to suitable weather conditions.

This work is being carried out in response to surface water flooding issues in the area and will see a drainage system installed and connected into the existing ditch on The Street in order to reduce the likelihood of this happening again in the future.

Due to the construction process involved and to maintain a safe working environment and protect the public it will be necessary to have a road closure for both The Street: from a point east of Sawmill Close to the junction with Bilney Lane for 2 weeks from 15 October 2018 to 26 October 2018, and Bilney Lane: from the junction with The Street for a distance of 150m from 15 October 2018 to 16 November 2018

A fully signed diversion will be in place for the duration of the road closures. Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout.

During all works every effort will be made to maintain access to properties and businesses but there may be certain times when works have an impact upon access. Emergency services and bus companies will also be made aware of the closure so that alternative arrangements can be made for emergency vehicles and bus services.

The County Council thanks people for their patience while this drainage improvement work is carried out.

The works which will cost £35,000 will be carried out by Norfolk County Council’s Community and Environmental Services Department and their contractors.
