    Sanders Bus Services for Felthorpe

    We are advised that effective September 3, 2017 the Sanders 42 bus service will no longer serve Felthorpe.

    The 45 bus service will be amended to include Felthorpe on its route.Felthorpe New Bus Service Timetable

    In summary, the amended service will no longer travel to the city via Horsford, instead will travel via the Reepham Road.

    Buses will depart from the Nash Road stop at 07:40 and 10:20. There will no longer be a 12:00 service.

    On the return journey, buses leave Castle Meadow at 13:08 and 17:38, with a 45A service operating at 16:23 on school days.

  • Traffic Presentation

    The presentation given at the recent special meeting, where a petition was handed to Norfolk County Council’s Martin Wilby to decrease speeding through the parish and HGV use of the parish, is attached.

  • Phone Mast Appeal

    In relation to the mobile phone mast planning application submitted last year for the cricket ground, which Broadland Council rejected, please be aware that the Planning Inspectorate have accepted this application for appeal.

    If you wish to support or object to this appeal then you must submit your comments to the Planning Inspectorate by 23 August. Full details are on the attached letter.

    A special meeting of Felthorpe Parish Council will be held on Tuesday 11 July to give a presentation on traffic calming within the parish, as well as the recent traffic survey.  Full details on the attachment.

    Felthorpe Parish Council is looking to co-opt a new parish councillor to fill a vacancy.   This is an exciting time to join a dynamic and forward thinking council and we would love to hear from you if you fit the following criteria and would like to make a real difference in your community.    Please contact either the parish clerk or any councillor in order to put your name forward:

    You should consider becoming a parish or town councillor if:

    • You would like to do something positive for your community
    • You would like to spend your time productively
    • You can think, listen and act locally

    To become a councillor, you must satisfy the following criteria on the day you are co-opted:

    • be at least 18 years of age
    • be a British citizen, a qualifying citizen of a Commonwealth country, a citizen of the Irish Republic, or a citizen of another member state of the European Union

    You must also meet at least one of the four following qualifications on the day you are co-opted:

    • be registered as a local government elector for the local authority area in which you are standing
    • have occupied as an owner or a tenant any land or premises in the local authority area in which you are standing during the whole of the 12 months before the day you are nominated
    • have had your main or only place of work during the last 12 months in the local authority area in which you are standing

  • Road Closure – The Street

    Norfolk County Council has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the The Street from a point 90m southwest of Hall Lane to a point 290m southwest of Hall Lane in the Felthorpe because of manhole repairs.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) on 15th June 2017  for the duration of the works, expected to be about 1 day.

    Alternative route is via: The Street, Taverham Road, Reepham Road, Holly Lane, Holt Road, Short Thorn Road (Drayton,Horsford,Felthorpe).

  • Upcoming Road Closures.

    Several forthcoming road closures to report:

    1.  A temporary traffic order affecting  Taverham Road from the junction of Church Lane to the junction of Reepham Road in Felthorpe has been issued to carry out patching works to carriageway.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) from 4th April 2017 to 6th April 2017 for the duration of the works.

    2. For anyone who travels into Norwich via Fakenham Road / Drayton High Road; the road between Hellesdon Hospital and Asda will be closed from 7pm to 6am nightly from 3 April for three months for road works.

  • Highways Speaker at Next Parish Council Meeting

    Highways will send a representative to the next Parish Council Meeting (Tuesday 4 April, 8pm) to discuss forthcoming road closures, their impact on the parish, and the Norwich Northern Distributor route generally.

    The public are very welcome – please do attend if you would like to raise any questions or listen to the discussion.
