Parish Councillors Required
Felthorpe Parish Council is looking to co-opt new councillors onto the Parish Council to replace members who did not stand for re-election.
Ideally you will be able to attend the May meeting, being held on May 26th 2015, to meet the existing councillors and join the meeting. However joining from a later date will be considered.
Meetings are generally held on the first Tuesday of each month (we usually have a break in August and January unless urgent business comes up) at 8pm in the Felthorpe Pavilion. However to fit in with election timescales the May meeting has been moved on this occasion to the 26th at 8pm and the June meeting has been cancelled. Meetings usually finish by 9.30pm.
Full, funded training is available for the successful candidate, which the clerk will be able to book you onto.
If you would like to contribute and have a positive say in how your local area is run then please email the Parish Clerk Sonya Blythe (felthorpe_pc@yahoo.co.uk) with a brief letter outlining why, before the closing date of 5pm on Tuesday 19 May 2015. Alternately call 01603 527095 to speak with the clerk.

Chinese Lanterns
Broadland District Council have passed a motion supporting the National Farmers’ Union campaign to the Government to ban the sale of and public use of releasing sky lanterns (commonly referred to as “Chinese lanterns”), as they are a danger to the environment and can harm animals. The Parish Council have agreed to support this ban and as such are asking residents to also support this by agreeing to not release such lanterns within the parish of Felthorpe. The Recreation Ground Committee have also agreed to support the ban by adding it into the terms and conditions of its hiring agreement.
