    A Notice of Result of Uncontested Election is attached for information. The candidates shown as validly nominated are elected as your parish councillors with effect from 2 May, 2019.

  • Trod Footpath – Holt Road

    Good news!
     
    The Parish Council has been successful in its bid to Norfolk County Councils Parish Partnership Scheme, and has won a grant of £8000 to install a trod footpath for our residents on Holt Road. The full cost of the scheme is £16000, with the Parish Council paying the remaining £8000.
     
    Work will start later this year.
     
    This comes on top of our previous successful bids to the scheme, which have installed two narrowings on The Street, installed three safety gateways at various junctions in the village, and purchased two speed monitoring SAM2 cameras.

  • Village Pride Day – This Week!

    This year’s village pride day will take place this Saturday (13 April).

    Last year’s was a huge success and we hope to make this year’s even better – see the attached flyer for more information.

  • April Meeting

    The April Parish Council meeting will be a week later than usual, and be held on 9 April instead of the 2nd. See you there!

  • Road Closure – Taverham Road

    Norfolk County Council have made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting the C262 Taverham Road from its junction with Church Lane for a distance of 40 metres southwards in Felthorpe because of manhole cover repair.

    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) on 8th April 2019 for the duration of the works, expected to be 1 day within the period.

    The person dealing with enquiries at Norfolk County Council is Martin Dixon (Community and Environmental Services) Telephone 0344 800 8020.

    The Notice of Election for the May 2019 parish  elections is attached.

    The following link is the parish/town page where all the notices will be published, and where you can find additional information on how to stand as a Councillor.

    Nominations can start to be submitted from 20 March and up to final deadline of 4pm on 3 April.  Nominations must be hand delivered to Broadland council offices.

  • Parish Council Elections – May 2019

    Parish Council elections are happening on 2 May 2019 and this is your opportunity to get involved!

    This is an exciting time to become part of your parish council and:

    – Get involved with your local community
    – Have a say about local issues that people care about
    – Influence local service delivery
    – Decide how funding is spent to improve the community

    You need to be over 18 years old and fit one of the criteria listed below:

    Requirements to becoming a councillor:

    • You have either during the whole of the 12 months before the day on which nominated as a candidate, or the day of the election, resided in the parish or within 3 miles
    • You have occupied as owner / tenant any land or premises in the parish during the whole of the 12 months before the day of their nomination and the day of the election
    • Your principle or only place of work in the parish during the whole of the 12 months before the day of their nomination and the day of election
    • You are at the date of your nomination (and continue to be) on the electoral register as a local government elector for the parish in which they wish to stand

    Disqualifications from being a councillor:

    A person may be disqualified from becoming a councillor in the following ways:

    • If they hold a paid office for the parish council
    • If they are the subject of a bankruptcy restriction
    • If they have been sentenced to a term of imprisonment of three months or more (including a suspended sentence) during the five years before poling day
    • If they have been disqualified under the representation of the People Act 1983

    Nomination papers

    The Parish Clerk can provide an email link to nomination papers – felthorpe_pc@yahoo.co.uk.  The candidate must be nominated by a proposer and a seconder who are electors in the area for which the candidate seeks office. 
    Your proposer and seconder will need their elector number.  This can be obtained by contacting Broadland Council on 01603 430483.
