    Broadland District Council has a grant pot available for local groups to apply to. If that is of interest then more information can be seen here on Broadland’s website.

  • Parish Councillor Vacancy

    Felthorpe Parish Council is looking to co-opt a new parish councillor to fill a vacancy.   This is an exciting time to join a dynamic and forward thinking council and we would love to hear from you if you fit the following criteria and would like to make a real difference in your community.    Please contact the parish clerk ([email protected]) with a paragraph about yourself by Friday 2 October 2020 to put your name forward. Co-option will take place at the meeting on 6 October.  If the vacancy is not filled on that date then the vacancy will remain open and co-option will occur at a future meeting.

    You should consider becoming a parish or town councillor if:

    • You would like to do something positive for your community
    • You would like to spend your time productively
    • You can think, listen and act locally

    To become a councillor, you must satisfy the following criteria on the day you are co-opted:

    • be at least 18 years of age
    • be a British citizen, a qualifying citizen of a Commonwealth country, a citizen of the Irish Republic, or a citizen of another member state of the European Union

    You must also meet at least one of the four following qualifications on the day you are co-opted:

    • be registered as a local government elector for the local authority area in which you are standing
    • have occupied as an owner or a tenant any land or premises in the local authority area in which you are standing during the whole of the 12 months before the day you are nominated
    • have had your main or only place of work during the last 12 months in the local authority area in which you are standing
    • have lived in the local authority area in which you are standing during the whole of the last 12 months

    A notice of a casual vacancy for the position of Parish Councillor is detailed on the attached document.

    If no call for an election is received then the parish council will be able to co-opt a councillor after 21 September.

  • Meet Your MP!

    Jerome Mayhew, your local MP, will be at the next meeting of Felthorpe Parish Council.

    This is your chance to meet him and raise any local issues that you have concerns over.

    The meeting will be held at 7pm on Friday 4 September in the Pavilion.

    Social distancing must be adhered to and you are required to wear a face mask, unless medically exempt. Your details will be taken upon entry and kept for 21 days for track and trace.

  • Road Closure – Swannington

    Norfolk County Council has made a Temporary Traffic Order affecting Reepham Road from its junction with Station Road for a distance of 100 metres north westwards and south eastwards in the Swannington because of essential highway resurfacing works.
    The road will be temporarily closed (except for access) on 14th September 2020 for the duration of the works, expected to be 1 day within the period.

    The annual governance and accountability statement has been completed for Felthorpe Parish Council for 2019/20 and can be seen on the  Transparency Code section of the website.

    The  notice below gives details of public rights to inspect the accounting records and other documents that relate to the accounts.

  • Assistance During Pandemic

    If you know of any one who requires assistance at this time (shopping, collecting prescriptions, lifts to the doctor) please point them towards South Norfolk and Broadland Council’s Hub on the following numbers. They are coordinating all local teams and are excellently placed to assist.

  • Parish Council Meeting – Cancelled

    The April meeting of Felthorpe Parish Council has been cancelled.   More information will follow on the May meeting in due course.

    Felthorpe Parish Council hopes that all of its parishioners are staying safe and well during these unprecedented times.

  • Village Pride Day – Postponed

    Unfortunately the decision has been made to postpone the village pride day – we hope to rearrange for the autumn.
     
    However, please take the opportunity to clear any litter in the area of your own home in the meantime if you are able, so that we can still keep our parish looking beautiful.
